Support for Hillary

I just read Tim Gunn was criticizing the Sec. Of State for wearing pants. People have been talking about this forever now. Why can't a woman wear pants. I hope the Sec. Of State is comfortable and pleased with how she feels. She is not there to be judged for how she looks but what she SAYS. Women are always made into objects no matter how far they get in society. She only has to look professional, which she certainly does.
When are women going to be treated as human beings and not just "bodies"?

Why a new blog?

I hope my opinion resonates with others out there. I will write about current events, the current state of the world and my opinions about it. For instance, I have an idea to appease the Republicans and make drastic cuts in social programs that must go along with drastic cuts in entitlements and higher taxes for top earners that democrats want. Why don't we do an accounting of what percentage of each citizen's taxes goes to a particular program. The government no longer agrees to fund it, and a separate organization is formed to organize the funds that citizens are asked to voluntarily donate to what programs they choose to fund. The public pays less tax and they feel they are personally having a say in where the money goes. We each get a list with all of the programs by category, "pell grants" or "wildlife programs". The amount of money needed to fund that program is listed. Whatever tax each individual saves can be donated back to the same services. Now, you might say, people won't donate and the services will not continue anyway, but some can pick up the slack for others, donate a little more for programs they deem necessary. The public will see in black and white what would be cut and feel they have a voice in what to keep. This would help balance the budget and most programs would still be funded without people having to pay more than they were, unless they want to.
